Torrijas Madrileñas (Torrijas from Madrid)

Hard bread (1 stick)
1 liter of milk
Orange / Lemon peel  
1 stick cinnamon
100 g sugar
flour
1 egg
seasonal fruit
ice cream

Infuse the milk with fruit peel, sugar and cinnamon; when the milk begins to boil turn off the heat and leave it to cool.

Cut the bread into slices and bathed in warm milk, let the bread absorb the milk and cool completely, we can let it rest an hour in the refrigerator.
When the bread is cool coat in batter (flour & egg) and fry in plenty of olive oil, dried off the excess oil and let cool.

Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon1 h. rest. 

Serve accompanied by seasonal fruit or ice cream (vanilla, cinnamon …) You can also add some chocolate zest top.
